Chapterpillar is built so that your reading stays with you. This page explains what the app does and does not do with your information.
Your data stays on your device
Your books, pages, streaks, goals and settings are stored on your iPhone. There is no account and no sign in. We do not run a server that holds your data, so we cannot see it.
No analytics, ads or tracking
Chapterpillar has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.
Book search and covers
The only time the app uses the network for its own features is when you search for a book or download a cover. These requests go to Open Library. Only the words you type into the search field are sent.
Purchases
Purchases are handled by Apple through StoreKit. We receive no payment data and no personal details from your purchase.
CSV export
A CSV export is created on your device. It is shared only where you choose to send it, for example to Files, Mail or another app.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app deletes its data from your device. If you use iCloud Backup, a backup of your device may include the app data, and that backup is managed by Apple under your own iCloud settings.
Children
Chapterpillar is a general audience reading tracker. It is not directed to children under 13, and it does not collect personal information from anyone.
